SunTrust To Sponsor 8th Annual Keys Charity Golf Classic On July 16

The Frederick Keys, along with their parent company Comcast-Spectacor,
today announced that SunTrust will again be the title sponsor of the 8th
Annual Keys Charity Golf Classic on July 16. It marks the fourth straight
year that SunTrust has sponsored the tournament, which benefits the Joel
A. Stephens Memorial Fund (aka Joel's Kids).

In 2002, approximately 150 golfers participated in last year's golf
classic, which raised $12,000 to Joel's Kids. Bruce Berry and Alaina
Syzmanski of the Challenger Little League of Frederick, MD were the first
recipients of the annual Joel's Kids award. As award recipients, The
Challenger Little League of Frederick will receive new uniforms for the
entire league in time for their 2003 baseball season.

"The Keys are fortunate to once again have SunTrust as the title sponsor
of this great event which gives to a very worthy charity," commented Joe
Pinto, Frederick Keys General Manager. "The golf classic is a great way to
showcase our team and thank our sponsors for their continued support of
our efforts throughout the year."

"SunTrust is excited to be sponsoring this event again," said Mark Barker,
Executive Vice President of Retail, SunTrust Bank. "It provides SunTrust
and, more importantly, its employees a great opportunity to demonstrate
support for the community and Joel's Kids. I look forward to another great
tournament at this well planned, worthwhile and fun event."

"We are very appreciative of SunTrust's commitment to Joel's Kids and the
area community,", said Mark Zeigler, who established the Keys Charity Golf
Classic in 1996, and Joel's Kids. "Thanks to SunTrust, and the many other
area businesses who have supported our Charity Golf Classic over the past
five years, we are now able to give back to the community with our annual
Joel's Kids award through the Community Foundation of Frederick County
(CFFC)."

SunTrust Banks, Inc., headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is one of the
nation's largest commercial banking organizations. As of December 31,

Joel's Kids was created in memory of Joel A. Stephens, a former outfielder

with colon cancer, and fought a valiant and courageous battle against all
odds, even attempting a comeback with the Frederick Keys in June of 1998.
Sadly, Stephens passed away at his home in Tioga, PA on September 30,2003 at
the age of 22.

Challenger Little League First Beneficiary of Joel’s Kids Award

MT. AIRY, MD (July 10) - Challenger Little League of Frederick County became the first recipients of the annual Joel’s Kids Award during the 7th Annual Frederick Keys/SunTrust Charity Golf Classic, held at Rattlewood Golf Course, near Mt. Airy, MD on July 10, 2002.

The Joel A. Stephens Memorial Award aka Joel’s Kids was started in 1999 in memory of Joel Stephens, a former outfielder in the Baltimore Orioles organization, who after being diagnosed with colon cancer, attempted a comeback with the Frederick Keys during June of 1998. Stephens’ wish of “one more professional at bat” was unsuccessful, and the 22-year old, native of Tioga, PA passed away on September 30, 1998.

In his memory, Mark Zeigler of the Frederick Keys established Joel’s Kids through the Community Foundation of Frederick County (MD), in hopes to keep Stephens’ legacy alive by offering awards to area youth programs with a preference given to those programs serving youth with disabilities, serious or terminal illness, or dealing with bereavement issues. The goal of this award is to allow a young boy and girl the opportunity to get the “one more at bat”, that Joel never saw, fulfilled.

Each year the Frederick Keys host a Charity Golf tournament to raise funds for Joel’s Kids. With the support of their title sponsor, SunTrust, Outback Steakhouse, Rattlewood Golf Course, and the many other businesses and individuals who have supported this event of the past seven years, we are able to make this award possible.

Representing the Challenger Little League as the 2002 “Joel’s Kids” are Bruce Berry and Alina Szymanski. They will be recognized before a Keys home game on August 30.
